The Tata Global Internships program is open to students of all nationalities who are currently pursuing a college or university degree outside India at any level of study — in any discipline, and at any stage of the course.
We are looking for students with a good academic record, but more importantly, those who demonstrate excellent learning agility and a keen interest in exploring different facets of themselves. Our past participants have come from universities across the globe, including Harvard, INSEAD, Yale, MIT, Cornell, LSE, Cambridge, NUS, NTU, Bocconi, IESE, and many more.
Tata Global Internships offers a holistic work experience of 6 to 12 weeks at the Tata group, an industry leader with a conscience.
This is not a program where you watch and learn, this is a program where you do and grow!
Tata Global Internships is an in-person internship experience, where students would travel to the project destinations primarily in India. Depending on the nature of the project, some projects could be hybrid or done virtually from your place of residence.
You and your fellow interns from all over the world will undergo an immersive business and cultural experience, where you discover India and the Tata universe together, and forge a lifelong bond of friendship and professional fellowship.
As part of the program, you’ll be expected to cut your teeth on live business projects, working both individually and within teams. There will be well-defined and specific projects from Tata group companies, most of which will wrap up towards the end of the program.
Don’t worry, we will not throw you into the deep end of the pool without a life jacket! There will be excellent support and mentorship provided to you by your project mentor and team, which will culminate in a final presentation with your findings and recommendations.
We believe in customized projects, where one size does not fit all. You can work on group or individual projects, as part of a co-op, course, or ‘capstone’, and at various times of the year.
You can incubate your business ideas as part of the program, taking the first step towards realizing your entrepreneurial dream, with ample advice, resources, mentorship, and counselling from project leaders.
It’s not all work, of course. Even as you get a glimpse into one of the world’s fastest growing economies and India’s most valuable brand 2022 (Tata Group), you get to explore the sights, sounds, smells, and stories of Incredible India!

Applications for the Summer 2023 program will be open from 15 September 2022 to 15 January 2023.
A Billion Possibilities
As a TGI participant, you get to work on projects embedded in one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, poised to become the third largest by 2030. At the same time, India is still an emerging market. This throws up its own set of opportunities and challenges. Problem-solving for a billion — yes, a billion — people and counting, which has a direct impact on the global economy, provides a uniquely rich learning experience.
Working at Tata helps you build strong networks within the group and with mentors and peers across the world. The TGI fellowship is a life membership into an exclusive club.
With 30 companies spanning 10 business verticals within the Tata group, there is a wide range of project areas to choose from — automobiles to artificial intelligence, hospitality to sustainability. We will find you the right fit to complement your skill sets and your dreams. You might even fall in love with a field of work you’d never dreamed of before!
Our participants have been involved in projects like re-engineering the branded customer experience for Tata Motors globally, creating a business plan for a members-only club at Taj Hotels, and understanding Tata Consumer's climate strategy to recommend improvements. The diversity of roles you can pick from across our flagship companies is quite enormous — Data Analytics, Biotech Engineering, Brand Communications and Marketing, Finance, Strategy Consulting, and lots more.
