November 2025 | Tata Motors
Subsequent to the demerger of Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicles business into TML Commercial Vehicles Limited (TMLCV), the company listed on India's stock exchanges on November 12, 2025.
Calling it a momentous day for the 8-decade old Tata Motors, the Tata group and the Indian automotive industry, group chairman N Chandrasekaran said of the demerger journey: “We had to ensure that both companies were fit, and directionally very strong. Then we will increase the speed. That's the journey we set on, in 2017-18. Suffice to say that today, the restructuring is done, whether it is creating separate functions, separating the engineering, because both companies have a different technology, have different business models and platforms, they serve different customer segments, dealer partners and investors, and that they have the right to pursue different ambitions. Now we have come to this day where we have two strong independent companies.”
"Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle business has long powered India's industrial progress and is now poised to lead global logistics and sustainable mobility, " said Mr Girish Wagh, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Motors, emphasizing the company's contribution to the nation. "As we step into a new chapter, we are ready to unlock our full potential to advance the vision of atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat by making logistics in our country more efficient. Our new brand promise, “Better always”, reflects our renewed focus on agility, innovation and customer centricity."
