The essence of service and community engagement is woven into the fabric of TajSATS Air Catering and the Tata group. Through the group level ProEngage programme, TajSATS has empowered employees to give back in a way that resonates with their skill set, education qualification, values and work schedules.
“At TajSATS, our dedication to societal well-being is a deeply ingrained aspect of our organisational ethos,” says Manish Gupta, CEO, TajSATS. “Through our ProEngage projects, we empower our employees to actively engage in initiatives aimed at creating positive social impact. Whether it be through volunteering at mentoring youth to crack interviews or improving their communication or even supporting an NGO to build their social media pages, each act of service serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to the betterment of society. We do not view these endeavours as separate from our core business operations but rather as integral components of who we are as an organisation.”

TajSATS, is committed to fostering a culture of compassion, and nurturing a deep sense of community and service. The company believes in instilling these values early on, mobilising management trainees to embrace the Tata culture and commit to making a difference from the start of their professional journeys. TajSATS employees have found fulfilment and joy in volunteering through ProEngage, with many volunteering multiple times.
“Participating in ProEngage for four consecutive times has been a wonderful experience,” says Chef Bhanu Sunder, from TajSATS, Chennai. “It feels great to contribute to the community and make a difference, and each project has been a valuable learning experience for me personally. ProEngage has provided me with the opportunity to reach out to people from diverse cultures and positively impact their lives, which brings me immense pleasure. This connection with the community is incredibly rewarding, especially when they share feedback about how helpful this experience has been for their future. I am truly thankful to Taj for giving me the opportunity to be part of ProEngage.”

Directly connecting with beneficiaries, the satisfaction of making a difference in someone’s life, and a certificate from the Tata group Chairman, were all incentivising factors driving participation among TajSATS employees, who contributed a total of 26,580 volunteering hours in FY24.
