From 2.64 PCVH in FY 2022 to 6.67 PCVH in FY 2024, Tata AutoComp’s Employee Volunteering Journey has been a remarkable one. With leadership leading from the front with 1000+ volunteering hours in FY 2023 and a unique Volunteering Framework, Tata AutoComp has been able to embed volunteering in the company culture. Today, Tata AutoComp Change Makers (Employee Volunteers Group) is the most vibrant of all groups within the company.
Tata AutoComp’s Volunteering Framework is designed to meaningfully engage employees in CSR. New joiners are given hands-on exposure to Tata AutoComp’s community work by introducing a volunteering session in their Induction programme in the first week of joining, thus orienting them to Tata Culture and Tata Values - “Responsibility” one of its five core values.

In addition, volunteering initiatives of Tata Sustainability Group (TSG) like Volunteering Week and ProEngage are an intrinsic part of the Volunteering Framework. DISHA - Tata AutoComp’s Annual CSR Conclave which is attended by all Stakeholders – Leaders, NGO Partners, Key Community Leaders, Volunteers, CSR SPOCS, Tata group leaders is designed to drive across important goals in CSR for Tata AutoComp – including Volunteering. TSG leaders are invited to address and drive across the message in this forum.

Championing volunteering across all locations
Tata AutoComp’s presence in 7 countries, 13 locations across India;18 business units with 9 joint venture companies and has been successful in making CSR a part of ‘Star Changemakers’, with strong bonds being fostered among the workforce, which also leads to greater community impact.

Incentivising through rewards and recognition programme
To further motivate and incentivise volunteering, Tata AutoComp has implemented a comprehensive rewards and recognition programme. Apart from monthly recognitions, Star Changemakers are rewarded in the Annual CSR Conclave – DISHA.
A common Volunteering programme across all BUs and JV Companies has helped drive a ‘One Tata AutoComp’ culture. Leaders lead by example, actively participating in volunteering efforts and inspiring others to do the same. Through their unwavering commitment and passion, leaders create a culture where volunteering isn’t just seen as an extracurricular activity but as a fundamental part of our identity as an organisation.
Internal enablers and levers
Key to Tata AutoComp’s success in volunteering is the strategic utilisation of active CSR SPOCs and Changemakers across business units and locations. Tata AutoComp recognises that for volunteering to thrive, it needs to be integrated into the very framework of the organisation. Dedicated volunteering committees at each location, comprising passionate employees spearhead volunteering initiatives and act as ambassadors within their respective communities.

Tata AutoComp firmly believes that volunteering isn’t just an individual endeavour—it’s a family affair. Recognising the power of including family members, volunteering initiatives are extended to encompass employees’ families. This involvement not only helps foster bonding among employees but also leads to more impactful community outreach.
