In March this year, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) introduced the Claridges Collection, a curated set of boutique luxury hotels blending elegance with rich historical charm. The move comes close on the heels of IHCL announcing its partnership to expand The Claridges brand, in November last year.

Designed for those who appreciate life’s finer things, every detail at Claridges is a celebration of refined luxury and timeless privilege, and IHCL is committed to extend its hospitality offerings in the luxury segment as consumers increasingly seek differentiated experiences. “With India’s growing economic prominence, the income pyramid is witnessing a structural shift and the demand for luxury products and services is at an all-time high led by significant expansion of households in the high-net worth bracket,” says Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL. “This presents a market opportunity to extend hospitality offerings in the luxury segment as consumers are seeking differentiated experiences.”

The signing of a management contract for the landmark hotel The Claridges, New Delhi in November 2024, was part of the brand’s growth strategy to enhance IHCL’s presence in key metro cities with iconic assets. “The Claridges, a distinguished landmark in Lutyens’ Delhi, provides a unique opportunity to expand our footprint at the nation’s most prestigious address, while also paving the way for potential expansion of our brandscape by growing The Claridges brand,” says Mr Chhatwal. Suresh Nanda, Promoter, the Claridges Hotels Pvt Ltd, adds, “This collaboration unites IHCL’s renowned expertise as a global leader in world-class hospitality with Claridges’ rich heritage and award-winning culinary offerings, ensuring guests enjoy an unparalleled experience. We are confident that this alliance will redefine industry benchmarks, showcasing the best of both partners.”

Claridges Collection is bound to resonate with those well-versed in the nuances of global luxury, who seek evolved, bespoke experiences. Positioned at the heart of key gateway cities across the world, these hotels serve as the epicenter of cultural and social prominence, offering a refined sanctuary for discerning travelers.

The Claridges, which has sat at the heart of the capital for over six decades, is an epitome of timeless elegance and contemporary luxury. Established in 1955, this iconic hotel seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern sophistication in its 119 tastefully appointed rooms and suites. Guests can indulge in global culinary experiences; choose from all-day dining options at Pickwick, authentic Cantonese at Jade, north Indian classics at Dhaba, Thai-inspired food at Erawaan and Mediterranean favourites at Sevilla. For artisanal cocktails in stylish settings, guests can explore the Elephant Bar and Aura. The Claridges remains a destination for luxury stays and exceptional dining.

The Claridges Collection portfolio will commence with The Claridges, New Delhi and will include the historic Connemera, Chennai, and after a comprehensive renovation, Blue Diamond, Pune. It is set to build its portfolio across India’s metro cities and key leisure destinations with a vision to reach 20+ hotels by 2030.
