Role Summary: This position is primarily responsible for handling maintenance & support of Group core insurance application and its Transition to a new user friendly and new age technology. The candidate would be required to manage a team of developers and vendor resources to ensure timely delivery of requirements with utmost quality on SQL / Java platforms. This role includes managing development, maintenance & production support teams.
Drive team in analyzing production issues and fixing root cause issues to ensure reduction of tickets and delivering regulatory requirements on time. Also he/she needs to review functional and technical design specifications, oversee development, perform code reviews, obtaining signoffs prior to release, plan implementation, post production verification and support.
The role has overall responsibility of providing system solution for all business requirement of Group Life Insurance sales channels, Operations, Finance and other functions to meet the business objective. Candidate should prepare technical solution design specification for all business requirements and handover to software development team for implementation. He should have connect with Indian insurance market and update with latest trends. Perform competitive analysis for of the development of software applications. The candidates are expected to have a good understanding of software technologies and helping insurance businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators. The role needs the candidate to understand Insurance domain, mentor the team and collaborate with vendor IT teams to ensure architecture alignment, support project managers, application design, design reviews and sign off to ensure business solution to meet stated project delivery objectives.
Support client engagement, product enhancements and new development by understanding business requirements, and performing competitive analysis for of the development of software applications.
- Deliver better user experience of the new / existing products which would benefits the clients and internal product line.
- Should identify, understand and define customer needs, objectives and business requirements, to design a solution that can best meet the Client-s requirements and internal product line.
- Adequate knowledge on UI/UX mobile / web application / API's.
- Possesses business operations capabilities combined with excellent technical, communication, presentation and client handling skills.

Manage Group application from development, production support, initiatives aspect from concept to implementation and core transformation

Manage team to deliver Group related changes, along with application health monitoring, security fixes as required

Participate in change concept/roadmap/development related discussions and provide system functional inputs to ensure minimum gap. Design technology solutions for complex business requirements involving multiple applications integration

Strong experience on Group Policy Admin System in Life Insurance covering policy administration, customer servicing, new business functions

Coordinate with Core Insurance & Digital application technical teams to identify system changes, solution & finalize FSD for initiation of Development. Responsible for zero gaps post implementation

Collaborate with partner for upgrades, product queries, business issues to ensure smooth production systems & enhanced application experience

Strategize system/process improvements, plan and execute projects to automate/optimize processes to reduce ticket inflow and improve stability of application helping EODB

Awareness of contemporary technologies used by Insurance and BFSI Industry and evaluate them for use in TATA AIA

Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders from Business units (Operations, Finance, Sales, etc.,), Vendor Management aspects

Monitor application performance, work with infrastructure vendor to ensure periodic maintenance and fixes as required

Project / Delivery Management
· Ensure business partner stakeholders engagement, product and new development by understanding business requirements.
· Identify change in business partner process & system, document new process in business requirement and get it validate by respective team.
· Ensure business solution meets customer requirements and adheres to Alliance defined standards
· Act as interface between Business & delivery team on business solution, effort estimation, capacity planning, design patterns to be adhered
Risk Management and Mitigation
· Analyse Process and systems to mitigate risk and provide solutions for non stated functional requirements
· Ensure all IT design and architecture risks are managed
Managing the Team
· Guide extended team in sequencing the project deliverables to ensure all the building blocks fit in properly with no rework and surprises
· Review provided technical, integration, database design artifacts and source code if required
· Mentoring the team on technical and business related areas
· Help in coordination between different verticals of IT / DC Team
Misc
· Ensure compliance to AIA and TALIC rules and standards
· Constantly align with the IT team, Vendor team and business stakeholder
