At JLR, the Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) Features and Systems Team are responsible for delivering the Customer Products and the end-to-end systems that are shaping JLR's automated driving future, working with industry leading partners, to develop cutting-edge solutions that will make our customers live simpler and safer, in a new era of modern luxury.

This role will play a pivotal part in defining, designing and integrating the systems and solutions that underpin the AAD Product Portfolio. You will be expected to see 'the big picture' and apply systems thinking to craft a design that meets demanding customer and regulatory requirements, while ensuring simplicity and harmonization. The systems that you will develop are the most complex and highly distributed within the automotive industry. They are safety critical and user centric - all on the backdrop of one the fastest moving technology areas in the world.

What you'll need

In this exciting yet challenging position, you will be responsible of the management of the software/ system/ HW defects observed during the validations for each development phase. You will be responsible for sharing the defect status with the stakeholders, explaining the bugs and proceed to the rating depending on the severity. You will drive the bugs solving internally, with the support of all teams (Functional Design, SW implementation, Validations), through regular meetings you will manage. You will be expected to keep up to date the defects database using JLR tools and processes and provide metrics showing the status for each component.

You will ensure that you are active participant within the Agile teams, participating in design reviews of the team deliverables as well as ensuring the Agile Delivery Team members understand items in the defect Backlog to the level required for resolution. As a key member within the team, you will be expected demonstrate effective Interaction with key technical stakeholders outside the domain as point of contact for technical discussions on issue management and delivery for programme milestones.

Knowledge, skills & experience

Essential

  • Must have practical knowledge of Agile methodologies and ways of working.
  • Experience with the problem-solving methodologies (Fishbone, 5-Whys, etc.,).
  • Experience in the product development of complex electronic functions at system level in the automotive industry, based upon v-cycle (left and right sides).
  • Experience in the Defect Management Process.
