Farida Khambata is an independent director on the board of Tata Sons. Ms Khambata is the global strategist of the investment advisory firm Cartica and a member of its investment committee. Prior to joining Cartica, Ms Khambata was a member of the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) management group, the senior leadership team of the financial institution.
In her last position at IFC, she served as regional vice president in charge of all operations in East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the global manufacturing cluster. She was responsible for strategy, investment operations and advisory services in IFC’s member countries in these regions, which account for about three-quarters of all of IFC’s investments. She also oversaw all equity investments globally and investments specifically in agribusiness, manufacturing and services, and health and education.
