VSNL in pact with Yahoo!

VSNL Singapore (also called VSNL International), the international arm of Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL), today announced a voice peering arrangement with Yahoo! It said Yahoo! would use VSNL International's Teleglobe voice peering and termination services for its VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) traffic globally and provide international retail call termination for Yahoo's voice services. Yahoo! is using the Teleglobe VoIPIink service - a fast, simple and cost-effective way to bridge interoperability between VoIP networks to terminate traffic anywhere in the world.

Yahoo! also uses the Teleglobe VTS service for retail termination for Yahoo PC to phone services worldwide, a company release said. "Consumer VoIP providers, such as Yahoo! as well as ISP and broadband providers today are looking to engage an experienced global partner to leverage the advantages of voice peering," said Michel Guyot, president, global voice services, VSNL International.
