made in the Union Railway Budget of setting up cyber

the country. We are keen on making internet easily available
so that passengers can stay connected even while on
the move," Shashi Kalathil, president, broadband
and retail business, said in a release here today.
VSNL was awarded franchisee rights for running cyber
cafés at 68 locations, according to the Railway
Budget 2006-07. The Tata group company plans to make
all the 68 cyber cafés operational in the next
few weeks.
The cyber cafés will enable all Tata Indicom

accounts. Each of these cyber cafés will be equipped
with 10-20 high-end multimedia PCs with flat panel monitors
and will remain open on a 24x7 basis.
Tata Indicom will also create select Wi-Fi areas, providing
wireless internet access to passengers on their laptops
or Wi-Fi-enabled PDAs.
