Business Standard — June 9, 2006

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) has launched a Dedicated Global Ethernet, its global ethernet private line service connecting major cities across the world. The services are being launched throughout North America, Europe and Asia, apart from offering services connecting 120 cities in India. The services were launched by its international arm VSNL Singapore Pte Ltd and the Dedicated Global Ethernet is a private ethernet line, offering bandwidth between 2-1,000 mbps with the flexibility to upgrade bandwidth on an as-needed basis without service interruption, VSNL informed the BSE today.

Customers can improve cash flow and reduce costs by eliminating long-term commitments to purchase capacity that will not be needed for some time. Enterprises can increase bandwidth as their usage grows and carriers are able to cost-effectively manage the evolving demands of their customer bases, it said.
