Appointment of Mr. A. Soni as
Deputy Managing Director, Voltas Limited

The
Board of Directors of Voltas Limited, has today, appointed Mr. A. Soni, presently an
Executive Director of the Company, as the Deputy Managing Director with immediate effect
and as the Managing Director of the Company effective 27th October, 2001, upon
the retirement of Mr. N.D. Khurody, the present Managing Director of the Company.
Mr.
Soni, a Chartered Accountant, joined Voltas in
April 1990 as General Manager (Finance). He was
appointed as Vice-President (Finance & Operations)
in September 1999 and joined the Board of Voltas
in September 2000.
