net profit up 55% in Q4

Voltas Ltd, an air-conditioning and engineering services company of the Tata Group, has registered 55 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 19.3 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2004 as against Rs 12.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company has registered a turnover of Rs 407 crore in quarter ended March 31, 2004 as compared to Rs 378 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
For the financial year 2003-04, net profit increased by 53 per cent Rs 39 crore up from Rs 25.6 crore in the previous year. The company has clocked a turnover of Rs 1,330 crore during 2003-04 as compared to Rs 1,230 crore in the previous year.
The company’s operating profit (before extraordinary/ exceptional items) for the fourth quarter increased by 65 per cent to Rs 17 crore as against Rs 10 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. For the year 2003-04, it rose by 54 per cent to Rs 37 crore as against Rs 24 crore in the previous year. The company’s performance has been boosted by the extra-ordinary performance of the Engineering Agency and Services and the Unitary Cooling Products Business Segments, according to a Voltas release.
