TM International Logistics (TMILL), a wholly owned subsidiary
of Tata Steel, is an international logistics support
service provider. The company offers a 'single window'
to clients for the carriage of international trade (cargoes)
on a door-to-door basis encompassing the entire chain
of carriage by multimodal transportation ie, sea, air
and inland (rail, road and waterways) taking care of
all documentation and attendant formalities for the
different regimes of transportation.

Port-based services:
Stevedoring, shore handling, warehousing / stockyard
management and transportation.
Ship agency: Taking care
of entry and exit of vessels, working at the ports in
India including ships' officers and crew requirements.
Shipping and clearing: Taking
care of customs, port and other statutory requirements
for smooth clearance of import cargoes and export shipments.
Chartering: Takes care of chartering
of vessels for carriage of goods both bulk and breakbulk.
Freight forwarding: Offers services
for carriage of goods by multimodal transport, having
a network of offices in India and overseas associates.

Jebel Ali FZE, UAE: Looks after charters of vessels
on 'voyage' or 'time charter'.
- TKM Overseas Transport (Europe)
GmbH, Hamburg,
Germany: Organises carriage of cargoes moving out
of Europe, the UK, the US and other overseas sources
of origin either into India or to other nations on
behalf of TMIL and Tata Group of companies / associates.
- TKM Transport Management
Services: Undertakes
all operational activities of the freight forwarding
business unit of TMILL community initiatives.
Corporate
social responsibility
TMILL has ingrained the
value systems of the Tata Group in its business. It
is committed to enriching the lives of the communities
that live in the vicinity of its operations.
At Kolkata, all the company's social initiatives are
undertaken in conjunction with the Kolkata chapter of
the Tata Council for Community Initiatives, which manages
old age homes and literacy programmes among the poor
and downtrodden.
At Haldia and Paradip, TMILL has been involved in organising
regular health check-up camps, including cancer awareness
camps for women, and assisting in specialised treatment
as required. The company is also associated with 'Operation
Muskan', a campaign undertaken with SMILE, the Tata
Main Hospital and the Tata Steel Rural Development Society,
for the free reconstructive surgery of cleft lips and
palates.
TMILL is in the process of identifying certain rural
areas in and around Haldia and Paradip that can be adopted
for providing basic living amenities like safe drinking
water, septic tanks, assistance in better agro management,
etc. Association with NGOs specialised in imparting
professional skills for 'self employment' is also on
the anvil.
Location
The company's principal base of operations are at Kolkata,
Haldia and Paradip.
