Titan
wins Images Retail Award for employee satisfaction
September 10, 2007
Titan Industries
has bagged the country's most coveted Images Retail
Award for being the most admired retailer of the year
for employee satisfaction. It had earlier won the Retailer
of the Year Award last year and the Images Fashion Awards
for several years in the past. The award citation recognised
its Face of Titan programme aimed at motivating and
building capability amongst the frontline staff.
The Face of Titan is an annual feature recognising
'outstanding' frontline staff of the "World of
Titan" retail chain. The programme operates at
the national level across 113 cities covering 213 showrooms.
It identifies star performers and creates a benchmark
for others to emulate. The several parameters for identifying
the "stars" cover a holistic 360-degree process
where the orientation is customer-centric. These are
the people who 'make it happen' in the theatre of retail.
Acclaimed as 'the Oscars' of the Indian retailing world,
the third IRA had all the makings of a premier Bollywood
awards function glitter
glamour
and the
suspense. The venue was jam-packed with over 2000 who's
who of India's retail industry, apart from some of the
renowned retail professionals and experts from across
the globe. The glam quotient was aptly turned on by
personalities like Pooja Bhatt, Bhageshree, Padmini
Kolhapuri, Zeenat Aman, Mahesh Bhatt and Anupam Kher.
Among some 150 foreign dignitaries present were Reg
Athwal, speaker extraordinaire and livewire chairman
of the World CEO Forum, Nigel Risner, the motivational
guru from UK, Steve Barnett, Karen Eidsvik, director
(Asia), Subway, Ian Duffy, president, IKEA, Peter Lau,
chairman, Giordano, Francis McAuley, international director,
Debenhams, Preben Bailey, SG, ISO and Jayne rafter,
publisher and editor, RLI.
The fact that IRA recognises every aspect of retailing
was evident from the 23 award categories that covered
key retail segments, formats and operational efficiencies.
The Images Retail Awards follows strict international
benchmarks in deciding the top honours with IRIS as
knowledge partner and global consulting firm AT Kearney
as the process approver. The selection process involved
self-nominations as well as a countrywide poll to short-list
the nominees. Over 11,000 consumers and some 1000 professionals
voted for their most admired retailers across formats
and categories.
