Sonata and Dhoni wish all the best to the Indian World Cup cricket team
March 17, 2007

With World cup cricket fever gripping the entire nation, the country's biggest cricket sensation M S Dhoni and India's largest selling watch brand, Sonata, have decided to extend their best wishes to the men in blue in a very special way.

Dashing wicketkeeper, batsman, and Sonata's brand ambassador, M S Dhoni, has chosen a special watch from Sonata's Solid Steel collection as a good luck gift for his fellow teammates. Speaking on the occasion, Dhoni said, "Although watches do not come first to mind when one thinks of cricket, this specially chosen 7915 SM watch from Sonata's Solid Steel collection symbolises the 'wrists of steel' that we players need to have. I am delighted that a brand like Sonata has come forward to recognise this in a memorable way".

While steel has always stood for being durable and strong, it is now being increasingly seen as stylish. The solid steel look of these Sonata watches symbolises the mettle and toughness that our world cup team hopes to display during the world cup.

Inspired by Dhoni's gesture, Sonata has decided to do something really big and exciting for all consumers to be able to send their good luck message to the Indian team and also get a chance to see and own that special watch which every Indian cricket fan would love to adorn.

Sonata is launching its Wish India campaign which includes a huge 'Wish India' card that will be placed at each of the 215 World of Titan outlets across 100 cities. Any supporter could walk in on March 9 and 10 and write his message wishing Team India and Dhoni the very best for the World Cup and join the cheering brigade. All the cards with their personal messages will be sent to Dhoni in West Indies before India's first match on March 17, 2007.
