Titan
opens up office in Hong Kong
October 16, 2006
Titan
Industries achieved one more milestone in its voyage
towards globalisation by opening its own office in Hong
Kong. In this context, the understanding of globalisation
would imply that each of the company's supply chain
hubs will be located in that part of the globe where
it can deliver the best results. Titan's Hong Kong office
clearly meets this objective as Hong Kong is a well-established
centre for global sourcing by many international brands.
The role of the sourcing office would be to ensure that
the finest in watches, watch components and designs
are sourced for Indian consumers, from countries as
diverse as Japan, Korea and China. The office would
also play a key role in expanding the current supplier
base to meet growing demand. At the same time, it would
also help significantly reduce new-product development
cycle time translating to a faster time-to-market.
The Hong Kong office will also
enable Titan to offer its customers the latest in international
fashion trends since this part of the world provides
watches and watch components to most reputed global
watch brands. As is well known, Hong Kong hosts one
of the largest International watch fairs every year.
All this and more will provide a great opportunity for
Titan's design studio to augment its design strengths
by inviting international designers into their portfolio.
Indian consumers can now look forward to even more exciting
product offerings from Titan, which is already the dominant
market leader in the watches category in the country.
Speaking at the inauguration,
Bhaskar Bhat, managing director, Titan Industries said,
"The evolution of consumer choices in the fashion
space is fast approaching the speed of light. Our Hong
Kong office will help align Titan deliverables to customers'
expectations."
Heading the sourcing office
at Hong Kong will be C Chandrashekar who has been deputed
from the company in India.
