Teeing
off to an exciting start, Titan Industries Limited
and the Bangalore Golf Club, today announced the commencement
of the 2nd annual Titan BGC Golf Tournament. Former
national cricketers and golf enthusiasts Syed Kirmani
and Gundappa Vishwanath joined Bijou Kurien COO
Watches, Titan Industries Limited, in teeing off and
kick starting the tournament.
Over 200 members of the Bangalore
Golf Club as well as a number of corporate contestants
will be participating in the 2-day Titan BGC Golf
Tournament 2005. The different handicap categories
for this tournament are 0-9, 10-18 and 19-24. It also
has special categories for senior citizens in the
age group 60-70 and above 70. The tournament is open
to ladies as well.
"The huge success of the
tournament last year is a testimony to the popularity
of this sport among people of Bangalore. We are sure
that this year too, the Titan BGC Golf Tournament
will see enthusiastic participation and response.
We are grateful to Mr Kirmani and Mr Vishwanath for
taking the time from their busy schedules and being
present here to tee off the tournament," said
Mr Bijou Kurien, COO Watches, Titan Industries
Limited.
The Titan BGC Golf Tournament
was instituted last year to commemorate the unveiling
of Titan Timescapes at BGC, a concept of outdoor clocks
in the form of a tree, harmonising nature with time
an illustration of the harmony between golf
and nature.
