Titan
"What's Your Style" campaign wins gold Effie
October 25, 2005
It
was another feather in the cap for Titan Industries
Limited and O&M at the Effie Awards 2005, with O&M
bagging the gold for Titan's "What's your Style"
campaign in the Consumer Durables category. This award
is given for campaigns that work and generate sales
and positive perceptions for the brand.
The "What's your Style"
campaign won the top honours in the category beating
several other nominations that included FCB Ulka's Tata
Indigo Marina — "Because we carry your world with
us", Contract Advertising's campaign for Asian
Paints Tractor Emulsion — "Saheb" and Asian
Paints Royale "Birthday Saif", as well as
O&M's campaign, Sumo Victor, "What you drive
is who you are".
"We are truly honoured with
this award. 'What's Your Style' captures the single-minded objective of increasing the style quotient of
watches amongst grooming accessories," said Bijou
Kurien, COO-Watches, Titan Industries Limited. "Our
heartiest congratulations to O&M for having
conceptualised
and executed such an effective campaign," he added.
The first commercial in the "Whats
Your Style" campaign featuring Aamir Khan, shows
the Titan brand ambassador choosing from a range of
watches, matching each outfit as his bemused secretary
looks on. The more recent Titan Gold & Steel TV
campaign carries forward the same theme as the star,
sans his Mangal Pandey locks, chooses a watch to match
his new look.
The Effie 2005, an initiative
from the Advertising Club of Bombay saw a record 79
entries from 12 agencies. The winners were chosen after
the ads were stringently judged through two rounds.
The Effie Awards have a special place in the world of
advertising, because these awards resulted from the
realization that it is essential to judge an ad on the
basis of both its creativity and their market effectiveness.
The Effie awards are now part of the India Advertising
Festival
