Titan
makes foray into the Philippines
December 11, 2003
Expanding its horizons in the Asia Pacific region, Titan
Industries formally launched its range of watches in the Philippines on
November 24, 2003.
The glittering launch conference for the press and trade in Manila was a high profile event laced with audio-visual presentations, fashion shows, music and dance. To add glamour to the event, Titan roped in former Miss World, Yukta Mookhey, to be the hostess for the evening.
Present on the occasion were Bhaskar Bhat, managing director, Bijou
Kurien, chief operating officer , Meera Harish, head of the Asia Pacific region and a host of senior executives from Titan and
the New Trends International Corporation, the official distributor for Titan in the Philippines.
Apart from the watch retailers, distributors and fashion experts from across the Philippines, the event was graced by Naurekha Sharma, Indian Ambassador to the Philippines.
Mr Bhat, representing Titan, and Bob Mirani, chairman, New Trends International, signed the partnership agreement to commence a new relationship. After the ceremonial signing of the partnership, executives of both
companies lined up on stage to raise a toast to the occasion.
Titan’s 'Edge' - the slimmest watch in the universe has evoked a lot of retailer and media interest in the Philippines.
Edge and Fastrack, Titan’s range of trendy and sporty watches are already a big hit in the
markets in the Far East.
Titan is currently present in 30 countries across
the world including Britain, Spain, Portugal,
Greece and many markets of Central and South East
Asia. No wonder then that Titan is dubbed the
'New World Watch' in its recent media campaign
in India. Titan is a sterling example of an Indian
consumer durable brand making a success of its
name on the global stage.
