Tanishq’s fifth
anniversary sale, which took place in the first half of
August, turned out to be a spectacular success, greatly
exceeding original expectations. Sales during the scheme
period exceeded Rs 33 crores and the average daily sale was
4.5 times the normal daily sale.
Tanishq’s 48
boutiques across the country were a witness to as many as
120,000 visitors during the two-week sale. Apart from
delighting the loyal Tanishq customers, the scheme drew many
new customers to the Tanishq boutiques and introduced them to
the style and quality of Tanishq jewellery. The sale marked
the completion of five years since the first boutique was
opened in Chennai in 1996.
While the sale is
formally over, some jewellery continues to be on offer at
special prices in most boutiques across the country. It is
also planned to take the sale collection to select cities
where Tanishq boutiques do not presently operate.
The successful
conclusion of the sale will enable Tanishq boutiques
to replenish their stocks with products suited
for the coming festival season. On offer will
be several new collections including an inexpensive
range of jewellery (christened Fashion Quotient,
or ‘FQ’ for short) aimed at the young buyer and
with its focus on silver and coloured stones.
Also on offer will be new collections of diamond
jewellery. One collection, christened Aria, draws
its inspiration from tradition but the designs
are contemporary.
