Harish Bhat is back at Titan as COO

Harish Bhat, the former COO of jewellery brand Tanishq, who has been the president (marketing) at Tata Teleservices for the last one year has moved back to Titan. This time, he will be heading the watches division of the company as COO, after Bijou Kurien quit to join Reliance Retail. Mr Bhat is credited as being one of the main architects behind the rise of Tanishq. By the time he left Titan, the jewellery business was almost equal in revenue contribution with the watches business of the company.

He will be looking to turn the clock back, as head of the watches and accessories business, which used to be the core business. With rise in prices of gold and overall growth in the jewellery business it has started generating more revenues than the watches division in the current financial year. Tata Teleservices is the telecom arm of Tatas which operates services under the Tata Indicom brand. A long-timer at the Tata Group, Mr Bhat was earlier with Tata Administrative Services and had worked for Tata Tea before moving into Titan in late 90s. Prior to becoming the COO of Tanishq, Mr Bhat, looked after sales and marketing of the jewellery division.
