The town that Titan built

Away from the madding crowd yet endowed with contemporary conveniences, that's Mathigiri, the township set up by Titan Industries. About 7 kms south of Hosur, this striking mini-town has been designed by a team of architects led by the world-renowned Charles Correa.

And the place has the unmistakable Correa stamp: beautifully landscaped open spaces with tree-lined roads that are wide and well-lit. The township also has a conveniently located shopping centre, a medical clinic and a school; a sprawling recreation centre and other facilities aimed at encouraging a vibrant communal life.

Titan’s model township was planned to meet the housing needs of people working for the company, as well as for a limited number of outsiders wishing to settle close to Hosur. Less than 50 kms from Bangalore, and connected to it by a four-lane highway, Hosur holds the promise of becoming an urban satellite of India's info-tech capital.

Spread over 80 acres and built to house a population of about 5,000, the Titan Township shows the same meticulous attention to detail, aesthetics, functionality and quality that Titan's watches have become famous for around the world.
