TCIL received the All India Certificate for Export Excellence 2003-2004 in the iron and steel category along with Highest Exporters Shield for Outstanding Export Performance during 2003-2004 from EEPC (ER).

The certificate and shield was received by K N Mishra, G M (works and ethics counsellor) from Somnath Chatterjee, speaker of Lok Sabha, Government of India, in an award ceremony organised by EEPC (ER) at the Oberoi Grand, Kolkata on May 20, 2006.

Rakesh Shah, national chairman of EEPC, R P Sehgal, chairman (ER), Henry Jardine, consul general, Consulate General of USA, Simon Wilsin, deputy high commissioner, British Deputy High Commission were the distinguished guests present at the occasion.
