December
17, 2002
At a meeting
of the company’s board of directors on Monday, December
16, 2002, the following decisions were recorded:
Sarosh J. Ghandy, the managing director of the company since its
incorporation, will retire on December 21, 2002, on reaching the
age of 65. Mr Ghandy, who has had a meritorious service span of 44 years
with the Tatas, will continue his association with Telcon as ‘special
advisor to the board (projects)’ for one year. Commencing January 15, 2003,
he will take responsibility for specific projects in need of his continued attention.
Effective
January 1, 2003, Ranaveer Sinha will join Telcon as its new
managing director. Mr Sinha is currently executive-in-charge
of the tubes division of Tata Steel, where he has, during the
past few years, done much to infuse new health into that
operation. Telcon is fortunate in being able to gain his
services and feels confident that its future remains secure with
this succession.
