to start resurfacing project in Jamshedpur

Eco Resurfaces Pvt Ltd (TERPL), a newly formed
joint venture company between Telcon a Tata Motors
subsidiary and the Hyderabad-based IVRCL Infrastructures
and Projects Ltd and two Japan-based companies,
GreenArm and Hitachi, is all set to take up resurfacing
of Indian roads in a big way. To begin with, however,
TERPL is set to prove its mettle in the steel
city where it has bagged a contract for resurfacing
roads under Tata Motors and the municipal services
company, Jamshedpur Utility and Services Company
(Jusco).
"This technology will help do the resurfacing
job much faster and quicker while giving it a
better finish," said Rana Sinha, managing director,
Telcon Ltd. Asked about the potential of resurfacing
roads in the country, a confident Mr Sinha told
FE, "The potential with these machines is huge,
but we want to create awareness first about the
kind and quality of job that can be done with
them." The joint venture company is in the process
of importing a single piece machinery at a cost
of Rs 22 to 24 crore from a joint venture company
in Japan between Hitachi and GreenArm.
