TCS recognised by Eaton for premier supplier excellence
April 9, 2008
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading
IT services, business solutions and outsourcing organisation,
today announced that it has received the 2007 Eaton
Premier Supplier Award for the 'Indirect Supplier for
Information Technology Services' category. Diversified
industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation honoured 42
of its best suppliers at its third Supplier Awards Program
on April 1 at the downtown Cleveland Marriott.
Richard D Holder, vice president, Eaton Business System,
said, Of the thousands of Eaton suppliers around
the world these are the best in terms of quality, productivity,
innovation and technology.
The award winners fall within one of three supplier
categories: direct, indirect or logistics. Direct materials
suppliers are those which provide goods used directly
in the making of products (ie, bearings, gaskets, seals,
castings); indirect materials and services suppliers
provide goods used to make products or support the business
(ie, IT services, cutting fluid, maintenance repair,
office supplies) and logistics suppliers handle the
transportation of goods inbound from the supplier and
outbound to customers, as well as indirect package transportation.
Surya Kant, president of TCSs North America operations
stated, TCS and Eaton have a long lasting relationship
and one for which we are both proud of its accomplishments.
By tapping into TCSs Global Network Delivery Model
integrated with its manufacturing business solutions
to provide a level of certainty in the results we deliver
for Eaton around the world, we have been able to increase
efficiencies and time to market for this global diversified
industrial manufacturer. We are very proud to receive
this award and look forward to continuing this successful
relationship.
