TCS inaugurates North America delivery centre at Cincinnati,
Ohio
March 18, 2008
TCS, a leading IT services, business solutions and
outsourcing organisation, today announced the opening
of its North America delivery centre called TCS Seven
Hills Park. Located in Milford, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati,
the facility sits on 220 wooded acres and is the largest
TCS facility in North America.
TCS yesterday hosted a grand opening of the new facility,
which includes 200,000 square feet of office space and
can accommodate up to 1,000 TCS associates, most of
who will be locally hired from the region and its universities.
The facility will serve as the primary software development
and delivery centre for North American customers. In
addition, the campus will also showcase TCS Innovation
Labs, customer network operations centres and briefing
centres.
"Ohio prides itself on our business-friendly environment
and we are always looking to increase economic opportunities
for our citizens," said Ohio Governor Ted Strickland.
"TCS has been a good corporate citizen in Ohio
for many years. We are excited that TCS has decided
to make this significant long-term investment, making
Ohio home to the newest and fastest-growing sectors
of the economy."
Commenting on the new facility, S Ramadorai, chief
executive officer and managing director of TCS said,
"The Cincinnati campus is a strategic investment
to create an information technology eco-system in the
state together with our customers and local universities.
It reflects our long-term commitment to customers in
one of our key markets globally and will not only serve
our North American customers but also help showcase
innovation and our suite of offerings." Mr Ramadorai
added, "We would like to thank Governor Strickland
and his team for making this possible and helping TCS
build a long-term base and become part of the local
business community."
N Chandrasekaran, TCS's chief operating officer and
executive director said, "After extensive research
for the best location for our North American campus,
we selected Cincinnati and the Ohio region as it met
all our criteria in terms of proximity to customers,
strong talent pool, and a significant economic base
that includes 10 Fortune 500 companies. TCS Seven Hills
Park is an integral part of our Global Network Delivery
Model which includes large delivery centres in
India, Latin America, China, Europe and now North America,
all of them providing a quality of service and a certainty
of outcome that our customers have come to expect from
TCS."
TCS has been operating in North America since 1979
when it established its first office in New York City.
Today, TCS has more than 40 offices throughout North
America delivering real business results to customers
spanning the Fortune 1000.
