TCS in multi-year contract with Hawaiian Airlines
August 27, 2007
TCS has signed a
multi-year contract with Hawaiian Airlines to provide
comprehensive IT, business process outsourcing and infrastructure
services. Founded in 1929, Hawaiian Airlines is one
of the top ranked airlines in the United States and
serves 17 domestic and international destinations in
the Pacific region.
Through its global network delivery model, TCS will
deliver end-to-end application maintenance and support
services to Hawaiian Airlines' core revenue accounting
application, an automated passenger revenue accounting
system. The system aids Hawaiian Airlines through systematised
transactions that provide information on sales, refunds,
exchanges and other miscellaneous data for key accounting
processes. The system also facilitates recordings of
air traffic liability amounts.
As a full service provider, TCS's comprehensive global
network delivery model will enable Hawaiian Airlines
to transition with near zero risk, achieve operational
efficiencies and realise sustainable cost advantages.
"After a rigorous selection process, TCS was chosen
for its airline experience and strong track record in
application development and maintenance projects,"
said David J Osborne, executive vice president and chief
information officer, Hawaiian Airlines. "We're
confident that TCS's comprehensive set of IT, business
process and outsourcing services will provide tremendous
operational efficiencies and peak performance to allow
us to focus on what we do best - provide excellent
customer service."
"This win is a testament to TCS's competencies
and capabilities to provide complete, end-to-end business
and IT services scalable to our customer needs,"
said N Chandrasekaran, executive vice president and
head of global operations, TCS. "Our expertise
and in-depth knowledge of the travel and hospitality
industry, coupled with our ability to deliver certainty
of results will provide sustained value to Hawaiian
Airlines."
TCS's global network delivery model is a collaborative,
best-in-class framework of people, processes and infrastructure.
The model taps on TCS's global intellectual assets of
tools, methodologies and products to help customers
reduce implementation time, realise benefits quicker
and achieve business goals.
