Forrester cites TCS as a leader in its North American
applications outsourcing report
March 26, 2007
Tata
Consultancy Services (TCS) today announced that Forrester,
an independent research firm, cited TCS as a leader
in its March 26, 2007 report titled "The Forrester
Wave: North American Applications Outsourcing, Q1 2007".
Forrester analysed thirteen service
providers across 50 criteria. The criteria were grouped
into three categories of current offering, strategy,
and market presence. All service providers have a mixture
of application management and maintenance / support
services and are viewed as a prominent provider by Forrester
clients. In this evaluation, TCS was positioned in the
report as a leader.
The report further states: "TCS
is the largest, oldest, and most geographically diverse
of the leading offshore Indian providers, and it is
a leader among competitors in the applications outsourcing
market. It has broad capabilities without any apparent
weaknesses. TCS is particularly notable for strong price
competitiveness, strong processes, and highly flexible
contract terms."
N Chandrasekaran, EVP, global
sales and operations, TCS, said: "We are very pleased
to have scored the highest of all thirteen service providers
in terms of 'market presence' as well as the second
highest score in the 'corporate strategy' category.
Our application development and maintenance services
account for over 50 per cent of our global revenues
which were more than $3 billion at the close of our
third quarter on December 31, 2006. The commitment we
have of providing the best services to our customers
is demonstrated by the fact that over 90 per cent of
our business comes from repeat customers. We believe
this report further reflects the certainty that our
customers experience in our global ability to consistently
exceed their expectations."
