Business Standard
December 16, 2006
As part of its Latin American
expansion plans, IT major Tata Consultancy Services
(TCS) has set up another global delivery centre (GDC)
in Uruguay and will house over 250 personnel.
"As we expand our operations in Latin America,
which now comprise centres in Uruguay, Brazil and Chile,
we will continue to invest in infrastructure and people,
to provide high-quality services to our clients with
increased value and lowered risk," TCS executive
vice president and head (global sales and operations)
N Chandrasekaran said.
The company undertook this investment to support the
expansion of its Latin American business and proactively
lower risk for its clients by providing an alternative
back-up site in Uruguay, he said.
But, the company did not divulge the financial investment
for the new centre.
