Tata
Consultancy Services (TCS) will recruit an additional
13,500 personnel from across the globe this year, of
which 11,500 would be from India. The company is scouting
for personnel with software development skills, business
analytical capabilities and sales and marketing officials.
"We intend to recruit around 5,000 personnel from
the market, which will be basically through walk-in
interviews and inviting applications," S Padmanabhan,
head of global human resource development, said in Mumbai
today.
Of the 11,500 to be added for
the company's operations in the domestic market, 6,500
would be through campus recruitment that took place
last year. TCS had offered jobs to students after a
campus recruitment in last academic year and are expected
to join the company on completion of their course this
year. The remaining 2,000 staff would be recruited from
Eastern Europe and Latin America, apart from China,
Australia and the mainland of US. This is an increase
of 3,500 hands compared with around 10,000 recruited
last year.
The company would recruit freshers
and experienced personnel with SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft,
Siebel, i2 and web-method skills under the software
development category, and people with two-five years
experience in business analytics. The recruitment is
expected to provide the company's global development
centre's with multi-language capabilities.
