CDSL is registration authority for TCS-CA
Financial Express — March 12, 2004

Tata Consultancy Services - Certifying Authority (TCS-CA) has announced the implementation of its managed PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) services at Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL).

According to a TCS release, with this launch CDSL has joined the TCS-CA Trust Network as a Registration Authority (RA) for TCS-CA

CDSL has introduced the second phase of its Internet-enabled service, EASIEST (electronic access to securities information and execution of secured transactions), which will enable clients to manage their securities and issuing delivery instructions easily and efficiently in a state-of-the-art, secure environment. "This implementation will facilitate CDSL customers, assuring them of getting maximum benefit. The managed PKI solution is yielding good results and is a success already. We have recently implemented this solution for BSE", said Dr Vidyasagar, executive vice-president, advanced technology, TCS.

As an RA, to counter the security risks related to online transactions, TCS-CA provided its SDK FormSigner for PKI-enabling the easiest service. FormSigner is designed to work with web-based applications to facilitate digital signing and verification of online forms. Its client component integrates seamlessly with web-browsers to provide an easy-to-use interface for digitally signing information in online forms. Its server component validates the identity of the signer and ensures that information submitted through online forms is tamper-proof and secure.
