TCS to implement HR solutions at Union Bank

The Global software and services consulting organisation Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been mandated by the Union Bank of India (UBI) to implement PeopleSoft HR and Payroll Solution.

UBI plans on implementing the Human Resource Management Solution (HRMS) across all its controlling offices including the central/zonal/regional office levels for an employee base of over 26,000 employees.

The centralised HRMS will cater to all the functions of the Bank’s personnel department including human resources functions from recruitment to post-retirement, payroll management, provident fund & terminal benefits management, management of leave, medical aid, scholarships, executive information system and tools for planning and decision-making, among others.

TCS which recently consolidated its relationship with Peoplsoft by setting up the Center of Excellence (COE) will be targeting the domestic market for PeopleSoft in human capital management & customers relationship management areas. TCS vice-president Jayant Pendharkar says "over 100 employees are already a part of this CoE at TCS and this is set to grow significantly over the next couple of years."

Mr Pendharkar added that TCS and Peoplesoft will target the business, financial services and insurance segment and will be focused at developing unique capabilities in supporting clients from health check to business processes through design and implementation to maintenance and support of HRMS, customer relationship management, EPM and financial solutions.
