TCE Consulting Engineers Limited(TCE) has secured the contract to render consultancy services for the preparation of detailed project report and detailed pre-construction phase design works for the prestigious 500 Mwe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) project the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). The contract between TCE and IGCAR was signed in Bangalore on November 14, 2000.

The project is proposed to be set up at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. The work will be carried out in 2 phases. The first phase will cover the preliminary design and engineering works including plant layout, preparation of bill of materials and cost estimates, while basic and detailed designs and preparation of specifications for materials, equipment and buildings will be undertaken during the second phase.

Work on the assignment will start immediately and is scheduled to be completed by June 2002.
