Tata Incorporated was established in 1945 as the representative office of the
Tata Group for the United States, Canada and Latin America. The company is based

Areas of business

of the steel products imported from Tata Steel are galvanised coils, cold-rolled
coils, galvanised wires and bead wire. The company also procures products for
trading, from other Indian and global sources, specifically wire rods, rebars,
PC strand, hot-rolled bands, automotive components, castings and sheet metal sub-assemblies.
In the minerals area the focus has been on ilmenite, iron ore, petroleum coke,
alumina and aluminum. The company has excellent relations
with a wide range of reputed, US-based vendors of plant and equipment, enabling
it to source goods out of the US, including those that are under ‘export administration
regulations’. The company assists interested Tata Group companies and others in
forging ‘market-making’ liaisons with overseas stakeholders, complying with regulations
and enhancing business in the Americas. Tata Inc is
an active member of the American Institute for International Steel, the American
Wire Producers' Association, the Metal Service Center, the US-India Business Council
and the Post-Tensioning Society.
