Hyderabad: Tata Teleservices has announced the appointment of Ajay Pandey as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his role as COO, Mr Pandey will be a part of the team working on the expansion of the company’s network and its performance across Andhra Pradesh and new circles. He will be based at the Tata Teleservices’ Corporate Office in Hyderabad.

Mr Pandey comes to Tata Teleservices with an experience of over five years in the Indian telecom industry. On the occasion Mr S Ramakrishnan, Managing Director, Tata Teleservices Limited said, "Ajay brings with him an in depth knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry. His wide experience in the industry and his understanding of customer preferences will help us in becoming a truly customer friendly telecommunications service provider. His background in setting up businesses will enable quicker roll out of our services in the state and other circles"

Prior to his appointment with Tata Teleservices Limited, Ajay was the COO with Essar Cellphone, where he was instrumental in setting up the company’s cellular services in the state of Punjab and Haryana. He has also been instrumental in launching the cellular business for Tata Cellular in the state of Andhra Pradesh, as Vice President, Sales Marketing & Customer service. He has had a successful track record in the implementation of businesses, which was put to use during his tenure as General Manager with Godrej and as Operations Manager with Modi Xerox.
