to invest Rs130 crore in Orissa

Tata Indicom, one of the leading private
sector telecom companies in the country, will pump in Rs 130 crores during this
financial year to expand its service network in Orissa. With this Tata Indicom's
total investment in Orissa Circle will go up to Rs 285 crore. "The fresh
investment will substantially scale up the capacity to cater to the growing subscriber
base in the state and will also significantly enhance the quality of service",
said Ajay Shrivastav, COO, Orissa Circle, Tata Teleservices. Unveiling
the company's plans for Orissa Circle here, Shrivastav said, for network enhancement
more towers have been set up spread across all the towns. With a state-of-the-art
switching centre in existence, Tata Indicom can now cater to large number of customers.
The network in the highways has also improved considerably, he claimed. He said
the company had 24 per cent market share in the incremental growth of new customers
during August last. "We hope to increase our
presence across several towns in the state with a view to provide better access
to our customers and consolidate our presence in the state", he observed.
Meanwhile, keeping an on the festive season, Tata Indicom has announced a range
of exciting schemes for their pre paid and post paid customers in Orissa. For
the pre paid customers The Tata Indicom Truepaid Go Life 79 voucher is available
for just Rs 79. Customers opting for Go Life 79 voucher
can stay mobile and receive free incoming calls for one month. Customers are also
entitled to receive free incoming calls for a lifetime by using this voucher 12
times within 12 months. For making outgoing calls, the customer can recharge with
vouchers starting for as low as Rs 50/-. The Rs 210 RCV (Recharge Voucher) for
Truepaid subscribers gives 30 days validity and Rs 75/- talk time. This
RCV is meant for the subscribers who have limited spending capacity but need the
incoming call facility throughout the month. Apart from these schemes, the company
has launched Motorola W150i for Rs 1099/- with Go Active plan. Under this plan,
customers will enjoy the benefit of 2000 minutes of free local outgoing calls
from Tata to Tata phones and 2 years of free incoming calls. The new offer on
Go Active plan is also extended to other affordably priced handsets like Motorola
200i, Samsung Hero, Haier C1000, Kyocera Topaz, Indicom Star, Haier D 1200 and
Haier T 1100. Similarly, the post paid customers
can now make a down payment worth Rs 5999/- for a Motorazr Vc3 or a Samsung Wideo
and pay the balance amount at the rate of Rs 500/- per month for the next 15 months.
The customers paying Rs 1650/- for a prepaid Walky connection are also entitled
to get free talktime worth Rs 1650/- for a period of three months.
