Tele plans to enter 3 more circles by March

CDMA-based telephony
service provider Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) will launch
operations in three additional circles by the end of
this financial year, expanding its presence to all the
23 circles in the country.
"We plan to launch operations in three circles
Jammu & Kashmir, North East and Assam
by March 31. We intend to announce our expansion plans
after receiving the mandatory approvals from the government,"
TTSL CEO Darryl Green told reporters here today.
The company had filed an application with the department
of telecommunications (DoT) and is awaiting the ministry's
approval for commencing operations in the new circles.
At present, TTSL, together with its subsidiary Tata
Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd (TTML), is present in
20 circles of the total 23 circles and provides services
to over 10 million subscribers in the country.
The company today launched a range of tariff plans and
handsets, including an entry-level handset priced at
Rs 999.
The launch is part of its new initiative Power
of Choice which offers a wide range of tariff
plans and handsets. The tariff plans are Go Easy, GO
Life, Go Active and Go Max, while the new handsets are
from Indicom Ace, LG 2535, Samsung Hero, Indicom Star,
Pantech, LG 6335 and Samsung Wideo handsets.
"The new tariff plans are designed to address specific
customer requirements and comes with no monthly recharge
commitment, attractive SMS and call. In addition, all
customers will get full talktime on all recharge cards,"
Green said.
