Business Standard June
24, 2006
ZTE Corporation,
the fastest growing global provider of telecommunications
equipment and network solutions, has been selected by
Tata Teleservices to deploy CDMA 2000 solutions for
rural telecom networks throughout India. The contract
is multi-million dollar worth. ZTE will be responsible
for the construction of the network covering many of
the rural regions. The solution is a carrier-class hardware
platform providing open interfaces and good compatibility,
flexible network technology, powerful service functions
and big cost savings for carriers.
The solution is especially
suitable for implementation in rural areas. ZTE recently
installed the world's biggest CDMA network for China
Unicom, confirming ZTE as a major global vendor of CDMA
equipment. Greg Young, chief technical officer, Tata
Teleservices, said, "Tata Teleservices was looking
for a cost-effective rural solution to lower capital
and operational costs. ZTE was chosen as a vendor for
our rural solution after stringent technical evaluation,
lab tests and field trials. This contract will enable
Tata Teleservices to reach rural parts with world-class
technology in a cost-effective manner."
