Indicom's Walky gets smarter

Tata Indicom launched the
new LG LSP350T series of phones for their "Fixed
wireless" category. Branded under the "New
Smarter Walky", tagline, the new phone is
sleeker, feature rich and more high tech than
the previously available Axesstel range. Talking
on the occasion, Mr K. Sukumar, the general manager,
central marketing and retail business unit, Tata
Teleservices Limited, said," With more than
20 lakh subscribers and a 59 per cent market share
already in the fixed wireless category, we are
emerging as the leaders in this business.
Our newest addition will
help consolidate this position furthermore."
The new Korean-made phones equipped with the latest
MSM 6025 chipset come in both, grey as well as
white colour options. A wide-view graphic backlit
display, messaging facilities in Hindi, a 500
contact storage facility, polyphonic ringtones,
2000 number storage facility and Internet connectivity
only add to the class of the phone.
Sania Mirza, the Indian
tennis sensation is the brand ambassador. Available
exclusively to Tata Indicom subscribers, new subscribers
can opt for this newer version with only an additional
payment of Rs 200 over the previous version that
will continue to be available at Rs 800. Existing
subscribers can also upgrade by paying the difference
and returning their older phones. Fixed Wireless
phones are supposed to be used at a single location
and cannot be "mobile", in any way.
