Tata
Indicom cuts prices by 33%

Continuing
on the ongoing telecom tariff war, CDMA-based
telephony services provider Tata Indicom has slashed
its prices by 33 per cent for calls in both intra
and inter-circle calls. The company has reduced
intra-circle call rates to Rs 1.20 with a 60-second
pulse rate, effective Saturday, compared to the
earlier rate of Rs 1.80, Tata Teleservices Ltd
(TTSL) said in a release here. The new rates are
applicable for fixed wireless, wireline and public
telephone booth tariffs, it said.
Tata Indicom is the telecom umbrella brand of
Tata group companies and TTSL is provider of Code
Division Multiple Access (CDMA) based mobile and
fixed telephony services. The call rates for inter-circle
calls has been slashed to Rs 2.40 per minute to
any number above 50 km from the prevailing Rs
3.60, it said adding, the reduction in prices
is effective in chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat,
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and rest of Maharashtra.
