S. Ramadorai appointed Chairman of Tata Technologies

Pune, July 25, 2001: The Board
of Tata Technologies Limited, (Tata Technologies),
a global frontrunner in high-end consulting, application
implementation and software development services
for manufacturers and their partners world-wide,
today appointed Mr. S. Ramadorai as the chairman
of the company. Mr. S. Ramadorai is the CEO of
Tata Consultancy Services.
Welcoming
Mr. S. Ramadorai, Mr Patrick McGoldrick, Managing
Director, TATA Technologies, said, "We are

Mr Ramadorai

Packard, Tandem-Compaq, American Express, Capital
Bank, Target Corporation, Citibank, Qwest, Lucent
Technologies and Nortel. Furthermore, Ramadorai
has spearheaded TCS quality initiatives,
taking thirteen of its Development Centers in
India to SEIs CMM Level 5, the highest
and most prestigious performance assessment issued
by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Over
7,500 TCS employees have been covered by this
assessment.
Mr Ramadorai
holds a Bachelors degree in Physics from Delhi
University, India, a Bachelor of Engineering degree
in Electronics and Telecommunications from the
Indian Institute of Science, India, and a Masters
degree in Computer Science from the University
of California, USA. In 1993, Ramadorai took the
Senior Executive Development Program at MITs
Sloan School of Management.
Mr Ramadorai
is the Vice Chairman of TATA Elxsi (India) Ltd,
Vice Chairman of the Mumbai (India) Chapter of
IEEE Computer Society; Chairman of the Mumbai
(India) Chapter of UNIX Forum and Vice Chairman
of IND-UNIX. He is also on the Board of Directors
of Tata Industries Limited (India), Tata Infotech
Limited (India), Engineering Analysis Centre of
Excellence Pvt. Ltd (a joint venture with General
Electric), WTI Advanced Technologies Pvt Ltd.
(India), Aerospace Systems Limited (India), Global
Procurement Consultants Limited, India, Tata Internet
