Tata
Steel forms new executive committee for Corus

The Tata Steel group has set itself an
ambition to become one of the most profitable and leading
players in the global steel industry. Tata Steel group
comprises two entities, namely, Tata Steel (including
Tata Steel Thailand and NatSteel Asia) and Corus. In
order to realise this ambition, a new organisation is
announced today, which includes a new executive committee
for the Corus entity, effective from January 1, 2008.
The executive committee of Corus, chaired by the CEO
of Corus, Philippe Varin, will comprise:
- Rauke Henstra, chief operating officer
- Marjan Oudeman, strip products division director
- Phil Dryden, long products division director
- Scott MacDonald, distribution and building systems
division, director
- Tor Farquhar, director, human resources
- Frank Royle, director, finance
- The director, legal, compliance and secretariat
who will be appointed shortly. Helen Matheson is currently
acting as director, legal compliance and secretariat.
In order to ensure strong group alignment, the group
CFO, the group director, strategy and the group director,
technology and integration, will participate in the
executive committee:
- Dr Tridibesh Mukherjee, group director, technology
and integration
- Koushik Chatterjee, group chief financial officer,
and would be responsible for investor relations, capital
structure, financing strategy, debt and equity raising,
corporate M&A, risk management, assurance and
governance with supervision of audit, tax structure
optimisation, coordination of statutory and management
reporting, compliance, and co-ordination of legal
matters related to M&A. The group finance function
will have a strong reporting relationship to the audit
committee of the Tata Steel board.
