Tata
Steel's corporate anthem to mark its 100th year
August 29, 2007
Tata Steel entered
into its centenary year on August 26, 2007. As a part
of the numerous initiatives undertaken by the company
on this achievement, one of the key highlights is the
launch of the corporate anthem that captures the essence
of Tata Steel's journey through the last 100 years.
The inspiring lyrics which entail the spirit and perseverance
of Tata Steel have been penned by the famous and acclaimed
lyricist Javed Akhtar. Through his creative skills,
the poet has managed to encapsulate the will and determination
that has steered Tata Steel through all times in the
last 10 decades. The music for the anthem has been composed
by the well-known musical trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy
and sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Mahalaxmi Iyer. The
anthem, originally written in Hindi, has been translated
into English and sung by singers Newman and Suzanne.
This corporate anthem, which will be played on all
occasions round the year, has been specially created
to communicate the rich heritage of Tata Steel in 24
different countries where the company has almost 84,000
employees. As Tata Steel is a global corporate today,
the anthem will act as a tool to bind together all employees
of Tata Steel across all centres and remind them of
the ideals of Tata Steel.
