Tata
Steel launches technical training programme to develop
employability

Tata
Steel inaugurated a four months residential technical
training programme in electrical and masonry, for the
residents of Seraikela Kharasawan district, today, on
November 26 at Seraikela, Jharkhand.

Commissioner, Laxaman Pd Singh, IPS, Suptd.of Police,Seraikela
Kharaswan and Partho Sengupta, PEO & Chief (Jharkhand
Steel Project), Tata Steel, inaugurated the training
programme and J P Singh, Chief of Jharkhand Project,
Tata Steel presided over the inaugural function.
Tata Steel has proposed to setup
a 12 MT per annum steel plant in Jharkhand and also
steel plants in the states of Chhattisgarh and Orissa.
In line with its vision, the Company is committed to
improve the quality of life of the people displaced
by its upcoming Greenfield projects, by making them
a part of the Tata Parivar.
With the commencement of the
Jharkhand project plenty of employment opportunities
will be available for the local inhabitants. The technical
training programme for the residents of Seraikela and
Kharasawan district has been envisaged to develop the
employability of the youths in the area.
40 unemployed youths, aged between
18 to 30 years has been selected from Ghamaria and Seraikela
Block of Seraikela Kharsawan district of Jharkhand for
the training. Out of 40 trainees, 20 will be taking
up electrical and the remaining 20 will undergo masonry
training. Detailed schedule of the four months
programme was released on the occasion.
Three full time faculties from
Savak Nanavati Technical Institute (SNTI) and several
other part time faculties have been appointed by Tata
Steel to successfully conduct the course. Part time
faculties will impart training on personality development,
communication, volunteerism etc.
While Tata Steel is focused in
the pursuit of its operational goals, it is also committed

charity, but by strengthening and empowering them with
expertise and knowledge. Its community outreach programmes
covers the Tata Steel managed city of Jamshedpur and
over 600 villages in and around its manufacturing and
raw materials operations.
