Mr
H M Nerurkar, vice president, flat products, Tata Steel
has been appointed vice president for Tata Steel's Kalinganagar
Steel Project in Orissa. In view of the significance
of this green field project, Tata Steel has appointed
Mr Nerurkar to this highly critical post, based on his
vast and rich experience and his leadership abilities
to steer large projects successfully.
Tata Steel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Orissa for the setting up of a
6mt-integrated steel plant at Kalinganagar, Duburi, Orissa. Mr Nerurkar's vast experience of
33 years in the steel industry and his educational qualifications make him the most ideal candidate to lead Tata Steel's Kalinganagar Steel project. Mr Nerurkar is a B. Tech. in
metallurgical engineering from College of Engineering, Pune University and has attended several management courses in India and overseas, including CEDEP in France. He is associated with several professional
organisations, such as Indian Institute of Metals, INSDAG, AIMA Governing Council among others. He is also the
chairman of CII Jharkhand Council and a member of the Board of Directors of TM International Logistics Ltd. Mr Nerurkar has won several accolades and awards, some of them are SAIL Gold Medal, Visvesaraya Award, National Metallurgist Day Award.
The Kalinganagar Steel Project in Orissa will result in the prosperity and progress in the State and is a milestone in yet another century of relationship between Orissa and Tata Steel. A 20-member multi-functional team, headed by Mr Nerurkar is in place to execute this world-class project.
