June

Tata
Steel, in its ongoing commitment to increase stakeholder
value, is addressing the information and interactive
needs of its shareholders and the financial community.
Tata Steel has been at the forefront of grasping
the potential unleashed by the information technology
revolution.
Thus, while Tata Steel has an array of measures to interact
with its
financial community, it has leveraged this technology
to reach out to its financial community through the
web, in a fast, reliable and cost effective manner.
In its quest for enhancing transparency in its business
and opening new channels of communication with its stakeholders
Tata Steel launched its website – www.tatasteel.com
– as early as July 4, 1998.
The website was launched as a window to the company
and has now grown to become a full- fledged steel portal.
The reputation of the site was established with the
conferring of the IISI People’s Choice Award by the
International Iron & Steel Institute (IISI) at its
summit in Rome in 2002 and several awards by the Association
of Business Communicators if India, over the years.
Based on our online feedback system, and in-depth interactions
with users of the website both within the company and
from the financial community, Tata Steel has launched
an investor relations sub-site at www.tatasteel.com/investorrelations/default.htm.
It shall address and reorganise the investor-related
information and expectations in a new investor-specific
section.
Presently the website already addresses the issues of:
