The Tata Iron and Steel Company Ltd (Tata Steel) has now acquired more than 90 per cent of the equity capital in Tata SSL Ltd (TSSL).

The development is consequent to the cash offer made by Tata Steel for acquiring the entire equity capital in TSSL at a price of Rs 27 per share. The cash offer was closed on November 27, 2001.

In due course, Tata Steel will be requesting the TSSL board to initiate proceedings for delisting TSSL shares.
