Steel Bags Best Governed Company Award November

Steel has won the Best Governed Company Award 2006 presented by the Asian Centre
for Corporate Governance. Global Corporate Governance Forum head Phillip Armstrong
gave away the award to Tata Steel for setting high standards in governance practices
in Mumbai recently. It received the award for the corporate practices that have
enabled the company to direct and control its affairs in an efficient manner and
maximise its shareholders value. The
Awards Committee was chaired by the author of King's committee report on corporate
governance, Mervyn King, and the members were a mix of eminent international and
Indian personalities, largely drawn from the global advisory board of Asian Centre
for corporate governance. Asian
Centre for Corporate Governance (ACCG) promotes global corporate governance principles
of transparency, accountability and equity. The organisation is advised by Global
Advisory Board which comprises eminent International personalities from USA, Europe
& Asia, including India. |
